I am the coupon QUEEN!!!

Went to Kohls yesterday during their "power hours" with a couple coupons in tow. I had one card that was mailed to me for $15 off any purchase, and another that was emailed to me for $10 off any purchase. I was purse hunting and figured I'd be able to use one of the coupons at least. I looked around at clothes for awhile, tried a couple things on, but didn't find anything I had to have, so I wandered over to the purses. I really wanted a purple one, but I kept being drawn to this teal color. I've seen a lot of accessories in that teal color this fall/winter and I think it looks great with lots of other colors. I found 4 purses that I liked, two in purple and two in teal. I put them on my shoulder one at a time and posed in the mirror with them, let each hang on my shoulder for a while and finally decided on a teal one. It's a little larger than I normally go for, but I loved the look. It was also the most expensive at $59. Luckily it was the Power Hour, so it was %50 off. I took it up to the cashier and handed her my $15 off card, when I pulled out the card, I saw the printed $10 email and mentioned that I had it too, but since my purchase was more than $15, I figured I'd use the larger coupon. She responded with "Ypu can use both if you want." What? Of course I want! I said "Really? Are you sure?" and she said "Yes, one was specially mailed to you and the other was an email list offer, so you can use both." OK - no argument here!

That's right. I got a $59 purse for $4.86!!!

I went to the gym this morning before work. I did the intervall routine on the treadmill and the simple weights moves the trainer showed me. It felt good. My legs were sore yesterday and this morning (from Monday's workout) but while doing the exercises today they felt good. I'm sore still, but I can walk. :) There's 1 flight of stairs I have to walk to leave the gym*, and I decided that I will up my exercise/change my routine when walking up that flight of stairs isn't tough. It was tough this morning. *LOL*

I got up at 6:15 this morning, and had plenty of time. Eventhough I had to make my lunch and then I forgot my makeup, I still think I had more time than I needed. On Friday I will try 6:30am. I'm worried about traffic getting heavy if I go much later than that.

*I don't have to take the stairs, there is an elevator, but that would feel like cheating. :)

ETA - slight change in plans: I HAVE FRIDAY OFF!!! I will use the gym at the apartment complex, but probably not before 9am. *LOL*

I did it! I got up at 6am, tossed on my workout gear, brushed my teeth, made a cup of coffee, grabbed my stuff and went to the gym. I made it to the gym by 6:30, did 30 minutes of intervalls (explained in Friday's post) on the treadmill and then some weight work for about 15 minutes. I used the facilities at the gym to shower, change and get ready for work. I was at my desk with my breakfast by 8:15am. My work schedule is normally 9-5:30. I was early! I'm going to do it again on Wednesday, so I will try 6:15am and see if that is enough time. Yes, 15 minutes of extra sleep is that important. :) I'm feeling good. My legs are a little sore, and I can feel that I used my arms too. It wasn't "fun" but it felt good, and I still feel good almost 4 hours later. I've signed up for a Bootcamp that starts on 12/2, and I figured it would be good to get into some actual exercise before I start the Bootcamp so I don't kill myself. :) I've also only had 2 cups of leaded coffee, so I'm not feeling good just from caffiene intake. *l*

It was nice because I'd yet to see the gym at work. They have redone it and put in all new equipment. I had a 30 minute session with a trainer. I was early, so I walked on the treadmill for 15 minutes while she finished with the person before me. I walked at my normal treadmill speed 3.0 mph and a 2.0 incline. When she asked what I do on the treadmill and I told her that, she laughed at me! She showed me an interval program I should do instead. Warm up for 3 minutes, then push up to a 12.0 incline at 2.5 mpr, then 2 minutes at 0.0 incline but a 3.6 mph for 2 minutes and repeat that for a total of 4 times, then end with a 3 minite cool down. I did 1 rep and can totally feel it. YIKES! Next she showed a few upper body and lower body weight exercises on a machine which seem very simple for me to remember and not too difficult for me almost muscle-less arms & legs. It felt good do get my blood pumping and I think I burned off half my lunch. :) The gym equipment is nice, the bathroom is a bit small, but it does have lockers, showers and a few stalls. There were more people in there than I expected. They also provide towels. I'm glad I changed into workout clothes as I got more of a workout than I expected.

We are air freshener conosours.

Wolf and I have 3 cats. We also have a two bedroom apartment. We need immediate odor control. Like normal people we have a can of air freshener in the bathroom, but we go even further with one in the living room and one in the room with the cat boxes. On top of that, we have an air freshener that hangs on the wall above the cat boxes and sprays every 18 minutes. The one thing that sucks about it is that it just sprays on schedule. It doesn't have a sensor to tell if someone is standing in front of it. The latest Buzz Agent campaign that I got to participate in was for the Glade® Sense & Spray™ I was hoping that this automatic air freshener system would be just what we needed. I want something that sprays every so often, unless it sees that someone is standing in front of it. Being sprayed with air freshener isn't the best thing I've ever experienced. I read the packaging and sat the Glade® Sense & Spray™ and was disappointed. It's interesting, the way that it does work, it has an eye and sprays when someone comes into it's view, but not over and over again, it times in-between each spray too. We put it in the bathroom and we did enjoy the scent. We think it sprayed too often in our small bathroom with two people using it. I also think it ran through the small bottle of spray very quickly. It was empty after just 2 weeks. I think the concept is good, but it's just not right yet. I'll keep bying my spray cans for now, but I will keep my eyes open for enhanced versions!

Would you rent or buy the home of your dreams if a brutal murder had taken place there? What if you got to live there rent-free? Would you think twice if neighbors warned you that it was haunted?

View 980 Answers

I've lived in at least 10 different apartments, anything could have happened (and probably did) in any one of them. If I founf my dream home and could afford to buy it then I don't care what happened there before I moved in. Any place Wolf and I live is physically cleaned and spiritually cleansed (by one or both of us) when we move in and we put our energy into making it our home. If we ever lived in a place that was haunted I would be fine with that. I have lived in a place that was haunted before when I was a kid in CA. It was scary at times, especially because I was young and didn't know how to shield myself from the spirits, but no one was hurt. I wish I could remember the address of the apartments we lived at so I could look it up and see if anyone else experienced things there.

Hormonally Yours by Shakespear's Sister I've loved them since I first heard "Stay" at a middle school dance. Songs on the album have funny moments, sexy moments, tearful moments, and angry moments. What more could you want?

If you were listening to pop music in 1991, you probably know the song "Stay" and if you're like me, you just started singing it to yourself! *lol*

I slept for 10 hours last night. I think I'm finally back to normal. I enjoy business trips, they can be fun and it's great to get to spend time with coworkers who I don't get to see very often, but boy does it take a lot out of a person!

Writer's Block: Instant attraction

Do you think romantic chemistry is instant or evolving? Have you ever given someone a second (or third) chance and lived to regret it? Have you ever fallen in love with someone you didn't particularly like or desire at first?

View 1125 Answers

I think romantic chemistry is instant. I have grown to like people that I didn't like when I met them, but it's never gotten past casual friendship. I'm one of those people that gets a strong first impression from just about everyone I meet. I can tell from that first meeting if I will get along with them or not.

Writer's Block: Forgive and forget?

Do you tend to forgive and forget or hold grudges? What is the longest you've ever stayed angry with someone? Is there anything the other person could say or do to win back your friendship and trust?

View 1513 Answers

I hold grudges. It takes a lot for me to hate someone, but when I finally get to that point, they are blacklisted forever. There aren't very many people on my blacklist, but I've hated one particular person for about 16 years.
