I need new glasses. Wolf and I went to the eye Dr. Saturday before last and got my new prescription. Went over to the Lenscrafters and tried to get new glasses. Last year I only got new lenses, but for some reason the insurance (EyeMed) thinks I got frames too. I remember only getting lenses because Wolf had to walk me around NorthPark mall so I didn't bump into things because I couldn't see. If I'd gotten new frames I'd have still had my old glasses on and wouldn't have had to be led around. Anyway, Lenscrafters pulls up my file and it shows my lenses, and that my frames were 1 penny and that nothing was sent to EyeMed for payment on the frames. It seems however that because there was a placeholder for the frames that EyeMed marked my benefit as used. The lenses I need to have cost almost $200 by themselves. The least expensive frames I found were $89 and they were just OK. I didn't love them. What is the point of having eye insurance??? I guess it's more for the Dr then the glasses themselves since my copay is only $10, but still. *sigh* So we decide to wait and see what I can find out from EyeMed about the frames. I emailed them on Tuesday, finally got a response today (Yes, one full week later.) saying that I need to get the Lenscrafter's to straighten it out. I have to do this with the Lenscrafters where I purchased the glasses and it has to be done by phone since I'm now in GA. *sigh*

Honestly, I don't know why I bother with vision insurance. My eye doc is out of network, and my glasses are always going to be expensive because I can't live without the antireflective coating.
Good luck getting this fixed. It's important to like the frames you have to wear every day!
Bastages.
Kick 'em into line, kitty!!!
