Hi, I'm new here and thought I'd go ahead and writr a lil... i had the gastric bypass surgery on sept 12 2007.. I've lost 95 pounds so far.. I had a problem with drinking for awile, but I am trying to keep that under control... I quit april 23rd and on may 7th I had a couple drinks sand felt like crap the next day ... I havent drank alcohol since that night... Pretty good for me.. I used to go out to the bars 3 times a week at least and drank ALOT.. I'm a binge drinker... My husband says if I continue to go out and drink the way I do, then he will leave me.... But that is not my incentive at all... I am wondering however, what will drinking do to my pouch... Maybe it will scare me to stay away even longer...

Wild! Three years of doing this show. I can hardly believe it. But it's true.
So for the show, we're gonna go down... the bawdy route with an extra long... show. We'd like to get some promos from faire performers. So record a "Happy Anniversary" MP3 and send it our way. I'll get it in the show. The more interesting the better.

He is cuter in person than his pics online, too. Quiet, but funny. I even have a second date! whooohooo! I have a silly grin on my face right now, and I'm not sure it is going to come off for a while.

Do you like your body yet? Are you used to it? Are you more or less comfortable in your own skin now than you were pre-op?
I'm 50lbs down, 30 from goal, and feeling like a stranger in my own skin. I alternate between feeling skinny and feeling huge several times a day. One minute I'm marveling at the feeling of my hips the next I'm suddenly ashamed of my stomach. Does the roller coaster ever end? Please share your experiences with me.
Signed,
Conflicted
I don't know if it's b/c there's been a lull in time where I haven't crocheted (thanks to 2 carpal tunnel surgeries, almost back to back!), but I can't seem to be able to keep a long chain that I've slip-stitched to the beginning of the chain to stay even & in place. As in, it's crooked/twisted, and I don't realize it till I've finished the 1st or 2nd row. I don't seem to remember having this sort of problem before!
Has this happened to any of you? Does anyone have any tips/tricks that could help me out w/this? I'm so frustrated! There's a pattern I'm trying to follow, a baby poncho (pics here, at the bottom left corner I'm trying to make for a friend who is expecting (as well as an adorable skirt I'd like to try & make for my kiddo later on) that requires me to slip stitch a very long chain, and I'm tired of frogging & starting over! :(

Our "esteemed" Governor actually signed a bill today that will allow wine sales over the internet into Georgia.
The jackass won't let us vote on Sunday sales, but he allows internet wine sales.. uhm...... okay.
It's a start, I guess.
YouTube video leads to MARTA arrest | ajc.com
MARTA officials said they have arrested Nafiza Ziyad, 25, as the result of an online video in which a young woman appears to be threatening an elderly woman on a MARTA train. The video, posted on YouTube two weeks ago, has drawn more than 7,000 comments on the site and been viewed 600,000 times.

You can click on the icon to see the full drawing. I hope all the Belly Dancing Virgos out there are happy with her as well. Now that she is redone, I feel I can move on to something else. Probably just whatever kind of belly dancers I feel like doing and some commissions along the way.
I appreciate each and every friend I've found on
I appreciate having a supportive family and partner to share all of this with!
Tonight, I'm appreciating just how precious life really is and thanking the heavens we're safe where we live.

Crrrrrrrrrrrrreeepy stuff, brings it all right back for me. Extra creepy is that the second clip with the outdoor furniture moving around looks a LOT like footage from Ghost Hunters :)

My boyfriend and I are moving out of our super-duper cramped 2 bedroom apt into a nice huge lots-of-house 3 bedroom house. :D I'm lazy and refuse to move my crap by myself again (I've done that way too many times the past few years), so I was wondering if anyone could recommend a mover? Good experiences? Bad? People to stay the hell away from?
Thanks much!!

Besides Glady's where is the best place for Chicken (and maybe waffles) in the Atl?
Some great places come to mind, Thelma's (are they still around after moving to Auburn Ave?) or the Collonnade (cheshire bridge - dinner only ;-( ) most decent places seem to have gone under.
Long-time lurker.
I don't post very much because I've mainly been working on this massive thread bedspread for about the past year, which has been the focus of all my crochet-energy for a while.
But, my boss is having a baby, so I made her my favorite baby blanket

We dined at Parish Sunday night — I’ll be reviewing it soon — and the place was packed. It’s a beautiful space. There’s just one problem: If you’re handicapped, you’re not going to eat there — at least not in the main dining room.
There is no way into that part of the restaurant that doesn’t require using stairs. My bad knees make it very difficult for me to walk down stairs, while I have little trouble walking up them. I got in, but, when I went to use the restroom, I discovered that it’s down a steep flight of stairs.
A server told me that an alternative to the stairs was going to the back of the restaurant by way of an inclined sidewalk and entering through the deli section called Parish Market. That’s a lot of trouble to use a bathroom.
As far as access to the main dining room if you’re in a wheelchair, forget it. Another server told me that people who cannot negotiate the stairs have to eat downstairs in the market, which, granted, is a convivial, attractive space itself. But…I’m just saying.
I looked up the American Disabilities Act and found that Parish does qualify for exemption, but it’s disappointing the restaurant didn’t find a way to better accommodate handicapped folks.
Since I’m complaining, here’s another one: valet parking. Last night, we ate in a restaurant with a very large, very sparse parking lot. Nonetheless, we were expected to use the valet. I refused and the valet rolled his eyes so hard I could hear them clattering. But why should I turn the keys to my car over to a valet and tip him $5, if there’s a parking space 10 feet away?

Here's the scoop:
"I think Moonlight's cancellation had more to do with money and politics than ratings. Moonlight had the audience to warrant another season from CBS. The problem was...Moonlight was a Warner Bros. production, and CBS had to pay a licensing fee to air it. The networks, to save money, are sharply steering away from shows than don't come from their in-house studios. It's a disturbing trend that gives more power to the network heads and stifles diversity and creativity in their programming.
Yesterday, I read an interesting post on another site speculating that Warner Bros. was using Moonlight as a bargaining chip to force CBS to renew another Warners show, New Adventures of Old Christine. Then the news comes today that Christine received a 22-episode pickup and Moonlight is canned. Coincidence? I think not."
