I figured I'd write up a little note about the conert.
We were worried we'd get rained on, but it cleared up nicely. The only problem is that Chastain is an all outdoor venue. There is no cover at all. We had a little breeze, but it was humid as hell. The seats are metal built into rock steps so it wasn't that comfortable either. The sound system was good, our view of the stage was nice, and the big screens with close-up shots were kewl.
Blues Traveler started off the show. They did a couple new songs and a couple of their hits. The best part was that they did "Devil Went Down to Georgia" on the harmonica! It was fun.
Next up was Live. The whole reason I wanted to attend this concert was to see LIVE they are one of my all time favorite groups. They played for about 1.5 hours, I could have listened to them all night. They ROCKED the stage, and I stood up and danced for most of that show. The venue had a Starbucks! I had a lot of fun sipping my Decaf Skinny Hazelnut (even more overpriced than normal) Latte while I rocked out to the music.
Wolf and I left after that. Neither of us are really big Collective Soul fans and since the seats are so uncomforable Wolf's ribs were not happy. We had a good time and I am very glad to have gotten to see Live perform live for the second time. I hope there's a third in the not too distant futire.
Now the next concert I have to pray I can win tickets for is the Hinder concert next month at Lakewood!!!

I just got notified that I won tickets from my work for the Live/Collective Soul/Blues Traveler concert this Sunday at Chastain. I haven't been to that venue yet so I'm looking forward to checking it out, but I am most excited about getting to see LIVE in concert again. Wolf and I went and saw them many years ago for my birthday present back in Dallas, TX when the Bronco Bowl was still open. It was a smaller, indoor venue, with great stage views and sound. I hope Chastain here is nice. I won't know what seats we've got until the tickets arrive (probably tomorrow), but if past experience with tickets from my work means anything they will be awesome seats, probably one of the box seats like we had at the Velvet Revolver concert at the Lakewood. I can't wait!!!
Oh, and it gets better! I just read some of the venue's website and we can bring our own "picnic basket and cooler"! Whoo hoo!
Update: Wait, maybe we can't bring a picnic, I just saw this on the livenation site "**Non-Table Set-up. No coolers or carry ins allowed." :(
Update: We have "Ochestra" seats in row H, Not too shabby!
Looks like we have to pay for parking...

We are OK. My right soulder is bruised so much that I can hardly move my right arm so please pardon my typing errors. Wolf has broken ribs, some are shattered on his left side, he dislocated his right thumb and left knee. He's in a lot of pain, and it's hard for me to help him with only my left arm working, but wer're figuring things out.

I'm not normally a fan of peaches. I know that must be sin now that I live in GA, but when I was offered a peach in the past I'd usually pass on it. Last weekend I drove past a little fresh produce stand near our apartment and decided to check it out. They didn't have a ton of stuff, but they did have some first crop peaches. They are a bit small, but I bought a little basket of them just to say I'm supporting my local economy.
These peaches are the best peaches ever. They are sweet and tangy and the juice is dripping down my hand as I eat it. OMG yum.

Wolf and I spent all day yesterday wandering around the GA Ren Fair yesterday. We enjoyed seeing all the vendors and all the wandering performers. We took lots of pictures and even watched the Ded Bob Sho!!! The grounds of the fair here are really pretty with lots of trees and little areas to stand at with mini-tables for your drink or snack. I dressed in costume and wore my Pendragon (which laced all the way up is too big but not horribly so), a cotton chemise and the burgandy skirt TheAntiChick and Goldenbaer made me for their wedding. The chemise and skirt are way too big, but I was still happy to dress up. When we got to the fair we checked out the Royal Family Cothiers and they had a sale! I got a new skirt and chemise for a great price. The first pic is of me with Puss in Boots! There's LOTS more pics after that one so if you have a slow connection beware! Also, clicking on any of the pics will take you to my photobuckt site where you can see lots more!

There is a store in Roswell called Family Mart. They have a small selection of closeout yarns. I've bought some Red Heart Super Saver yarn from them before, regular price is $1.99 a skein. I've also bought some Moda Dea Tutu novelty yarn from him in the past. If I remember correctly it was $1.00 a skein.
The store is closing at the end of the month!
They have everything 25% off. I chose 12 skeins of Red Heart Baby soft yarn (also $1.99) the owner added up 10 of them, took 25% off and gave me the other two free!
If you're in the area I'd check it out fast before it's all gone!
It's next door to the Home Depot on Holcomb Bridge east of 400. The Home Depot's address is 1580 Holcomb Bridge Rd, Roswell, GA.
While you're over there check out Once and Again Books too. It's a new and used bookstore with great prices! (Sorry for the plug, but my hubby works there so I had to!)

Sunday was a nice day and it was very busy at the PetSmart, I guess people were excited to get out and about after the bad storms.
We did have one kitty adopted, a little gray tabby girl named Frenchie went home with a nice lady.
Usually I talk about a few cats that are still up for adoption, but this week I'm only going to talk about one. This lovable kitty is going to be my pet project. I want him to find a good home fast!
Hunter is a beautiful orange tabby. He has long fur that is super soft and he's so pretty. He's very afraid up at the Petsmart and he just cowers in a corner of his cage. I wanted to spend some time with him to try and make him more comfortable there so I picked him up. Hunter velcroed himself to me and started purring and kneading on my arm. He wants someone to love him so much that it brought tears to my eyes. He would be a wonderful lap kitty and will love the person who adopts him with all his heart. If you're in the area and want to adopt a cat that will be more than just a pet but a real part of your family, please consider Hunter.

Today was a very nice day at PetSmart. We had LOTS of people looking at the cats and had 3 adopted!
Larson, my favorite from my last visit was adopted along with Abigail to a family with a little girl. Macon also found a new home with a family with a little girl!
We still have lots of adorable kitties, my current loves are Caroline, Salli and Patricia.
Caroline is a 4 year old tortie with only 1/2 a tail. She loves to be petted. She's listed as small, and I guess she is in length, but she's like my Ria and has swollowed a bowling ball. :)

Salli is a young girl, probably about 8 months old now. She loves big dogs! She'll love all over the glass when they come up to the cages. She's sweet and playfull too.

Patricia was a little upset with me for moving her from her comfy inside cage to the outside ones and putting her on display, but before I moved her she was so cute. She chirrped at me to get my attention and wanted to be petted and talked to. She was adopted and her family kept her for a year, but something happened and they could no longer keep her. Luckily they did the right thing and brought her back to CITC. She's such a recent addition that she's not up on the petfinder site yet.

I went to the PetSmart at noon and met the lady with Cat's in the Cradle that I'd talk to on the phone. She's very nice and showed me how they organize things. They have a pretty darn good setup there. They even have room in the kennel area for the cats to run free with each other and play.
I helped out with an adoption, and a total of 2 cats were adopted in the 4 hours I was there. That's a very good Sunday in comparrison with my past experience.
I met Abigail, who's a very sweet lap cat type kitty:

Doodlebug, who's a neat combination of playful and calm, she'd play then just plop over and take a nap:
http://search.petfinder.com/petnote/dis playpet.cgi?petid=8871579
Waffle, who was a recent addition at the Patsmart and was still getting used to things, but was very sweet:

And the sweetest of the bunch was Gevalia, it was her first day and she's only 8 months old so she was scared. She loves to have her tummy petted though and doing that I was able to coax her out of the carrier and into the kennel. She just LOVED to be petted:

If you don't know what I'm talking about check out www.lush.com
I was almost out of shampoo, and both my day and evening facewash so I needed to find one here in GA to go get more. I also needed them to advise me of a different shampoo to try since my Reincarnate was discontinued.
I thought I would go to the one in Perimiter Mall, but it's still "coming soon". I went down to Lennox Square Mall in Atlanta. That was a trip. The directions we found online were a little wonky and I ended up close, but not at the mall. Finally found my way into Macy's. This mall has a dedicated Lush store and a Lush section in a corner of Macy's.
The saleschick was very helpful and assisted me in picking out a new shampoo to try. I got Trichomania it's supposed to be for curly dry hair like mine. It smells devine.
I also bought my day facewash, Angels on Bare Skin, and my night facewash, Babyface. I still have toner and day face mousturizer from the last trip to Lush.
They were also having a neat sale! Buy one body bar get 2 free! I got one called Bob that smells of citrus and spice, one called Angel's Delight that is also citrus scented (I got it because it's so pretty! Pinks and purples!) and the third I got was a holiday only sent called Cocktail. There's apparently some purfume of the same name that it was made to go with, but I just think it smells good.
On top of that when you spend $35 you get a free bath bomb! I hadn't purchased a bath bomb from them before because it's a bit too extravagant for my budget. I mean $5-$7 for one bath is a bit much. It was great to enjoy one for free though! They gave me a bomb called Silver Cloud. It's blue and green, smells of citrus and a bit floral and has microfine silver glitter in it! It made my skin so soft and I really enjoyed using it last night.

I'd like to know how the city of Roswell expects me to be able to pay my citation and have it dismissed before my court date on 2/11 if I can't pay it until the ticket is in their system and it takes 2-3 weeks for the ticket to be in their system. I was ticketed on 1/11. I'm out of town from 2/1 to 2/6. I'm running out of time here people. *sigh* Oh, and this wouldn't be such a problem if I didn't have to do it in person at the courthouse which is only open from 8-5 on M-F.

Yep, it actually happened.
Yesterday Wolf and I decided to go get our Driver's Licenses here in GA. We'd procrastinated a bit because who wants to go sit at the DMV, right?
We made it out with new licenses in our hands in a little over an hour. On a Saturday. Is the world coming to an end? Or could it be that the state of GA actually has their stuff together and tries to make the process as painless as possible.
Yes, there was a good amount of waiting in line, but we completed the paperwork and walked out with real licenses so it was worth it. I'd had to get my license in late August in TX (it expired in July, oops) and didn't get it in the mail until mid October. Yeah, it probably took a little longer because the USPS had to forward it to my new address in GA, but still.

I'd heard people online talk about this store. They said it was like a Whole Foods but less expensive. I'd seen some of the foods in pictures on the BentoLunch community and it looked good. I was excited, but skeptical when I found they had one in Norcross (one of the neighboring towns to where I live). ( Read more... )
